Kelvara, Series One
Sold as Weeds
She inherited a shop, a garden and a class nobody has heard of. The garden had notes.
The premise
The worst class in town, and the loudest garden
Seventeen year old Yarrow Fen wanted a quiet life and a shop that paid for itself. Verdict, the force that names things in Kelvara, handed her Weed-Kin instead, and the whole town of Fenlow Green laughed. No light. No mark. Then the nettle patch behind her grandmother's herb shop started talking back.
Every useless weed in Kelvara is a demoted, disgraced or exiled bit of magic, still carrying real skills and a serious attitude problem. Every technique Yarrow learns belongs to one of them, and every one of them pays a price to use it. The stronger the working, the more it costs somebody, which turns each upgrade into a decision rather than a number going up.
Underneath the shop hours and the seed trays there is a thirty year old cover-up inside the healers' guild, and the more the garden remembers, the closer it gets.

My magic can't throw fireballs. It can't summon storms. It just... talks to weeds.
The whole town laughs at Weed-Kin. Then the nettle patch behind her grandmother's failing herb shop starts talking back, and Yarrow finds herself running the world's most opinionated support group. Nettle, who solves everything with more stinging. Dandelion, a disgraced scryer answering riddles nobody asked. Bindweed, hard at work on his redemption arc. And Chamomile, who is definitely not the most dangerous one in the patch.

The garden kept one more secret, and it is finally ready to grow.
Six months on, Yarrow has a fragile peace. A full order book, a grudging truce with the guild, and allies who trust her a little more every day. Then Nettle sends her digging in the one corner of the garden nobody ever talks about, and what comes up is not a weed at all. Comfrey has been buried for thirty years, waiting for someone to ask the right question, and she remembers a girl named Sorrel.
